Rodrigo is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a teaching qualification at Tlaquepaque Community College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,400.
The registrar has said Rodrigo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Rodrigo has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Rodrigo would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Rodrigo isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Tlaquepaque Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $640
• Final term tuition: $650
• Exam and lab fees: $90
• Textbooks and materials: $20
Thank you so much.
