Rocío can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Rocío regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇨🇴 Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia360 views
Rocío has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Rocío can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Rocío's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending strength. I hope things turn around soon. After 21 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
