Rides to dialysis three times a week for Lei in Rochester
A rota of drivers to the Rochester Dialysis Unit would keep Lei on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
πΊπΈ Rochester, Minnesota, United States1,305 views
Lei has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Rochester Dialysis Unit alone. After a minor stroke, Lei can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 24 km each way.
Lei is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
