Rides to dialysis three times a week for Caio in São Paulo

A rota of drivers to São Paulo Regional Medical Center would keep Caio on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Caio has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to São Paulo Regional Medical Center alone. After a minor stroke, Caio can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 25 km each way. Caio is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Glad we found this place.

your post was clear and honest. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of São Paulo.

    • Thinking of you and your family, Carlos. Shared this with my family. Thinking of São Paulo.

      • Stay strong. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Chattogram.
