Rides to dialysis three times a week for Bongani in Ekurhuleni
Bongani needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇿🇦 Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa521 views
Bongani has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Ekurhuleni Dialysis Unit alone. After a minor stroke, Bongani can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 28 km each way.
Bongani is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I hope life is good to you.

Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Hubballi.
