Restoring the Sycamore riverbank: a volunteer-led project in Nagpur
Help us clean and replant the Sycamore riverbank before the October planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,061 views
The Sycamore riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 107 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 100 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $200 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $105
• Signage and educational materials: $25
• Tools and protective gear: $70
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

you're not alone, Anita. More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Chattogram.
Stay strong, Anita. Hope this works out for you. Take care.
