Respite care wanted: a few hours a week with Colette in Pretoria
Unpaid or low-cost help with Colette for a few hours each week would keep our family afloat.

I'm Jacques, and I look after my mother at home in Pretoria. Colette has early memory loss and should not be alone for long stretches. I work nights, and the gap on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons is the hardest part of my week.
What I need is someone calm and reliable to be in the house from about 2pm until 6pm. Mostly that means company, a cup of tea, lunch and a short walk if the weather is kind. No lifting and no medical care.
Colette loves old photographs and will talk your ear off about it. I'm home before dark and will always leave the phone numbers of the doctor and a neighbor.
I'd like to meet you first with Colette present, and I'm happy to give a reference from the parish. If you have done care work before, wonderful, but kindness matters more.
