I'm René, 19, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until August. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Keep going, René. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Bangkok this morning. Blessings.
Good luck, René. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. After 29 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
sending good thoughts, René. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Gatineau.
