Rebuilding after the heatwave: the Orchard neighborhood needs your help
Neighbors in the Orchard neighborhood are rebuilding after the heatwave; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The heatwave hit the Orchard neighborhood on 16 July. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $650
• Clean water and purification supplies: $95
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120
• Food parcels for displaced families: $115
• Tools and labor for repairs: $120
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thinking of you and your family. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Granada so I could bring a meal. All the best.
You're not alone. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Mumbai donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
