The earthquake damaged 74 homes in Hillcrest village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The earthquake hit Hillcrest village on 26 November. My home was one of 74 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $400 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $135 • Food parcels for displaced families: $100 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $165 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Naveed

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($77 in total) the plan for food parcels for displaced families is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($72 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
