Rebuilding after the cyclone: Lakeview village needs your help
After the cyclone, families in Lakeview village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇳 India1,739 views
The cyclone hit Lakeview village on 12 June. My home was one of 39 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $650
• Clean water and purification supplies: $55
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $220
• Food parcels for displaced families: $260
• Tools and labor for repairs: $315
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Good luck, Kamrul. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Saket
Wishing you peace. Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
