Ravi's laparoscopic cyst removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled laparoscopic cyst removal in November is out of reach without help covering $1,250 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes. My surgeon at Pune Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,800, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $1,250 short.
Doctors at Pune Community Hospital told me severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,800 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $540
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $440
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $75
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Physiotherapy sessions: $70
• Travel and lodging for the family: $65
I hope life is good to you.

So sorry you're going through this, Ravi. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
Stay strong, Ravi. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest!
So sorry you're going through this, Ravi. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Rockford this morning. Thinking of Pune.
