The cyclone hit Hillcrest village on 15 July. My home was one of 85 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $700 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $220 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $140 • Roofing sheets and timber: $290 • Clean water and purification supplies: $50 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Ruma

Updates from Ruma

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 37% funded and I made the first payment toward tools and labor for repairs.

  2. Update from Rajshahi: the plan for bedding, blankets and mattresses is now scheduled. We're at 20% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
