Plumber needed urgently: Jamila's home isn't safe

Jamila has a leaking gas line, and can't afford a licensed plumber to fix it; a few hours of professional help would make the home safe.

In May an inspector told me that my home has a leaking gas line. It's a safety risk for me and my two small children. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $280 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed plumber who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $50. The job should take about eight hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a plumber and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Best of luck, Jamila. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

Take care, Jamila. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

      • Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Casablanca

          • Sending good thoughts. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Calgary but we're thinking of you.
