The Harmony riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 99 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 102 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $200 goes: • Waste removal and skip hire: $85 • Signage and educational materials: $15 • Native saplings and stakes: $100 If you're reading this, thank you. - Bello

  • You're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Bogotá.

    • Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Lagos.
