Volunteers are restoring the Harmony canal in Glasgow; $1,450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Harmony canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 83 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 143 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $490
• Tools and protective gear: $320
• Waste removal and skip hire: $550
• Signage and educational materials: $90
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hope things get better soon, Jonathan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best.
so sorry you're going through this, Jonathan. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Latina.
Rooting for you, Jonathan. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Ahmedabad but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Glasgow.
