Plant 3,250 native trees around Baobab Creek in Beersheba
A neighborhood-led restoration of Baobab Creek needs $1,050 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world881 views
Baobab Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 54 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 187 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $250
• Native saplings and stakes: $550
• Waste removal and skip hire: $250
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. After 19 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Dublin

Sending strength, Rachel. Great idea, hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
