Plant 2,050 native trees around the Liberty riverbank in Kumasi
Help us clean and replant the Liberty riverbank before the September planting window closes.
🇬🇭 Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana1,352 views
The Liberty riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 100 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 130 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $70
• Tools and protective gear: $80
• Native saplings and stakes: $100
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

So sorry you're going through this, Janet. More neighborhoods should do this. Love from Berlin.
hope things get better soon, Janet. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
So sorry you're going through this. Hope you get there. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Mukono
Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
