Plant 1,350 native trees around the Cedar canal in Pune
Help us clean and replant the Cedar canal before the January planting window closes.
🇮🇳 India1,601 views
The Cedar canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This October, 89 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 164 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $75
• Tools and protective gear: $35
• Waste removal and skip hire: $130
• Signage and educational materials: $10
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Nagpur this morning. Take care
Sending strength. Great idea, hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Sending love, Rekha. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. Blessings.
