Plant 1,150 native trees around the Freedom riverbank in Bristol
Help us clean and replant the Freedom riverbank before the October planting window closes.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom649 views
The Freedom riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 62 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 166 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $980
• Tools and protective gear: $290
• Waste removal and skip hire: $650
• Signage and educational materials: $130
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending love, Natalie. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Epe.

good luck. Great idea, hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Stay strong. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out.
