Pedro was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June. The oncology team at Mesa Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Pedro is 46, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mesa Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $8,550 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,000 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,950 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $600 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Abril
