Payal needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery
Peer mentor wanted by a person eight weeks into recovery from alcohol dependence.

I'm eight weeks into recovery from alcohol dependence. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week.
I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like.
I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- 1 call a week
- format
- Online or by phone
- skills
- lived experience, empathy

Stay strong, Payal. Wishing Payal a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Sent it to 6 people at work. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Payal. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 24 years in hospitality I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Take care.
sending good thoughts. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Wish I lived closer to Burnaby so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
This could happen to any of us. Love from Orlando
I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of London
Take care. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Guadalupe donated after I showed her your page.
So sorry you're going through this, Payal. Get well soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
