I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Coimbatore Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $450 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $25
• Final term tuition: $185
• Outstanding tuition balance: $240

It's all in the list in the story. textbooks and materials is the big one at $25, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. I'll keep the page updated.
