Ramón is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a pharmacy diploma at Bogotá University, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,500.
The registrar has said Ramón can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ramón has a first-class average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ramón would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Ramón isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $680
• Final term tuition: $750
• Exam and lab fees: $50
• Textbooks and materials: $20

Good news. Because of your gifts ($314 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
