One semester away: help Odhiambo graduate from the Nairobi Institute of Technology
A first-generation student, Odhiambo needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of an accounting degree.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an accounting degree at the Nairobi Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,000.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $450
• Final term tuition: $480
• Exam and lab fees: $35
• Textbooks and materials: $35
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 16 people at work. God bless.
Thinking of you. Hope you get there. Sent it to 35 people at work. Greetings from Manchester.
You're not alone, Odhiambo. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. After 13 years in logistics I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
