One semester away: help Nyambura graduate from Fort Portal Polytechnic
A first-generation student, Nyambura needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a master's in public health.

Nyambura is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at Fort Portal Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $250.
The registrar has said Nyambura can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Nyambura has a distinction average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Nyambura would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Nyambura isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Fort Portal Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $250 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $35
• Textbooks and materials: $30
• Final term tuition: $185
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

this could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Negombo.
