Karthik is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at Howrah University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Karthik can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Karthik has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Karthik would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Karthik isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Howrah University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $850 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $430
• Final term tuition: $300
• Exam and lab fees: $45
• Textbooks and materials: $75
I hope life is good to you.

Hang in there, Suresh. I hope things turn around soon. After 19 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
