București

Ionuț is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at the București Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500. The registrar has said Ionuț can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ionuț has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ionuț would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Ionuț isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $500 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $70 • Outstanding tuition balance: $330 • Exam and lab fees: $100 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Marian
