Aparecida is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Belo Horizonte Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,750.
The registrar has said Aparecida can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Aparecida has a first-class average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Aparecida would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Aparecida isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Belo Horizonte Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $520
• Final term tuition: $1,050
• Exam and lab fees: $70
• Textbooks and materials: $110

Hope it all works out. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Hang in there. I hope things turn around soon. My husband and I read this together.
Thinking of you and your family, Carolina. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless
Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out.
hope things get better soon. Looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in Bogotá this morning. Take care.
