Obiageli's stomach cancer treatment fund
Obiageli is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Asaba, Delta, Nigeria718 views
Obiageli was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at Asaba Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Obiageli is 56, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Asaba Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $530
• Scans and lab work: $210
• Transport to Asaba Regional Medical Center: $105
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
• Household costs while unable to work: $245
Glad we found this place.

Keep going, Paul. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
Best of luck, Paul. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Rooting for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Asaba.
