Nuala can't leave home - help build a ramp

Nuala uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Nuala has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Nuala can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Nuala's family will cook lunch for the team. Glad we found this place.

Good luck, Liam. Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.

          • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 10 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything
