Could you drive Nora to the Cork Dialysis Unit on Tuesday? A rota of 4 drivers is forming.

Nora has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Cork Dialysis Unit alone. After a foot amputation, Nora can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 32 km each way. Nora is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • You're not alone, Siobhan. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care

    • Wishing you the best. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 22 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

      • Stay strong, Siobhan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Bengaluru donated after I showed her your page. Love from Bengaluru

        • Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you!

          • You're not alone, Siobhan. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 33 people at work
