I'm eight weeks into recovery from alcohol dependence. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Thinking of you and your family, Neha. It takes guts to ask. Well done.

    • Take care, Neha. Hope the doctors have good news. Don't give up. All the best.

      • Hope things get better soon. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 22 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

        • So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Iztapalapa.

          • Hope things get better soon, Neha. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless

Stay strong, Neha. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
