After my landlord sold the building, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Shinjuku, and the lease starts on Monday. I have my elderly father, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers. I'm hoping for a few strong people for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel. The old place is on the fourth floor walk-up and the new place has a ground-floor entrance. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me. I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Best of luck, Riku. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

    • Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Sacramento donated after I showed her your page. Take care.

      • I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Jakarta.

        • A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My neighbor in San Diego donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
