Need strong backs and a van: moving Priyanka to safer housing
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Mumbai.

After the rent increase, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Mumbai, and the lease starts on Friday. I have a teenager and a toddler, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for four volunteers for about four hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the second floor and the new place has an elevator. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care, Priyanka. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I hope October is when things finally get easier
Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!
best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Mumbai.
