Need strong backs and a van: moving Mercedes to safer housing
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Santa Fe.

After an unsafe stairwell, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Santa Fe, and the lease starts on Wednesday. I have a teenager and a toddler, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for anyone with a van for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has a ground-floor entrance. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Mercedes. Hope you get there. After 27 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything
keep going, Mercedes. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings.
wishing you peace, Mercedes. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless
So sorry you're going through this, Mercedes. Your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Bandung
take care. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Celaya
Wishing you the best, Mercedes. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't give up. God bless.
Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out
A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I hope November is when things finally get easier
Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 22 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Santa Fe.
