Need strong backs and a van: moving Juma to safer housing
Juma has found a safe new apartment in Nairobi and needs help moving heavy furniture on Tuesday.

After an unsafe stairwell, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Nairobi, and the lease starts on Tuesday. I have my elderly father, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for four volunteers for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the second floor and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

I live about 18 km from Nairobi. I can help at the weekend, tell me what you need. Can bring a friend.

Stay strong, Juma. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Hồ Chí Minh City
Hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Istanbul but we're thinking of you.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Nairobi.
Shared this with my family. I hope March is when things finally get easier
