After the rent increase, I found a safe, affordable apartment in San Antonio, and the lease starts on Monday. I have my elderly father, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers. I'm hoping for four volunteers for about three hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel. The old place is on the fourth floor walk-up and the new place has a ground-floor entrance. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me. I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer. I hope life is good to you.

You're not alone, Hoa. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from San Diego
