Need strong backs and a van: moving Everly to safer housing
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Los Angeles.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States794 views
After an unsafe stairwell, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Los Angeles, and the lease starts on Sunday. I have three kids, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for anyone with a van for about three hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Los Angeles
Stay strong, Everly. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Eldoret this morning. Greetings from Eldoret
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Sacramento
Thinking of you and your family, Everly. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
wishing you peace, Everly. Looking forward to the next update. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Thanks for sharing this, Everly. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. Blessings
