Need strong backs and a van: moving Bruno to safer housing

A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Santos.

After a break-in at the old place, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Santos, and the lease starts on Sunday. I have two children, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers. I'm hoping for anyone with a van for about five hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel. The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me. I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Keep going, Bruno. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Curitiba

    • You're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Santos.

      • Take care, Bruno. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Dundee!

        • Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.

          • Best of luck, Bruno. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

            • I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning.

              • Thinking of you, Bruno. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Dallas.
