My tuk-tuk: Fernando's only way to earn a living

Fernando drives for a living in Denver, and a broken fuel pump has stopped all income for 4 weeks.

🇺🇸 United States783 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 4 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,500. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my 3 children. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $1,500 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $770 • Labor charges: $230 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $370 • Towing and inspection: $130 Glad we found this place.
