My pickup: Anand's only way to earn a living
Anand drives for a living in Mumbai, and a broken fuel pump has stopped all income for 7 weeks.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India264 views
I make my living with my pickup. 7 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $200 goes:
• fuel pump replacement (parts): $100
• Labor charges: $25
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $30
• Towing and inspection: $45
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

How is Anand doing now?
sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 16 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Thinking of you and your family, Anand. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Keep going, Anand. Your post was clear and honest. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Anand!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. fuel pump replacement (parts) comes first ($100) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
praying for you. Hope you get there. Love from Bandung.
Rooting for you. Hope you get there. Blessings
thanks for sharing this, Anand. Hope the shop reopens soon. I hope September is when things finally get easier.
Sending strength, Anand. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Love from Breda
