My pickup: Alexander's only way to earn a living
Alexander drives for a living in San Antonio, and a broken clutch assembly has stopped all income for 12 weeks.
🇺🇸 United States1,091 views
I make my living with my pickup. 12 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $850. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $850 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $420
• Labor charges: $140
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $220
• Towing and inspection: $70
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending strength, Alexander. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of San Antonio.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from İzmir.
Hang in there, Alexander. Shared this with my family. After 12 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
You're not alone, Alexander. Shared it with a few friends. God bless.
