My delivery van: Senthil's only way to earn a living
Senthil drives for a living in Mumbai, and a broken fuel pump has stopped all income for 12 weeks.

I make my living with my delivery van. 12 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 3 children. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $200 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $15
• Labor charges: $25
• fuel pump replacement (parts): $160
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending good thoughts. Hope you make a strong comeback. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
how is Senthil doing now?
hang in there, Senthil. Small businesses are the heart of Mumbai. Hope you're open again soon. All the best
Hang in there, Senthil. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Lafayette
looking forward to the next update. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Mumbai.
Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Mumbai
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Senthil.
Towing and inspection is $15 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
Thanks for sharing this, Senthil. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Senthil. Small businesses are the heart of Mumbai. Hope you're open again soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
Sending strength, Senthil. Gave what I could, wish it was more
