Mpho needs someone who understands: peer support in recovery

Mpho is four months into recovery and would welcome a mentor with lived experience.

I'm four months into recovery from opioid addiction. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. Thanks for being kind about this.

    • sending love, Mpho. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Mpho. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Blessings
