Monica is applying to university - who can guide us?
Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Monica's essays until August.

I'm Monica, 18, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until August. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Thank you so much.

Sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Pozna艅.
Rooting for you, Monica. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Campinas.
Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Messina.
hang in there. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
Sending good thoughts, Monica. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Greetings from Mangaluru
