Mobility fund: stair-climbing aid for Hudson in San Diego
A stair-climbing aid would give Hudson independence - we're $7,300 away.
🇺🇸 United States971 views
I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at San Diego General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,300.
My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $7,300 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $6,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $195
• Delivery and set-up: $90
• First-year servicing plan: $265
Thanks for being kind about this.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Heliopolis this morning. Thinking of San Diego.
Praying for you, Hudson. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. It's not much but it's yours.
Wishing you peace, Hudson. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side.
So sorry you're going through this, Hudson. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
hope the doctors have good news. My neighbor in London donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
