Mobility fund: stair-climbing aid for Bhavna in Chennai
Help Bhavna get a stair-climbing aid so She can join the school sports day.
🇮🇳 Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India481 views
I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Chennai Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
• First-year servicing plan: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $55
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
