Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Juan in Ciudad de México

A prosthetic leg would give Juan independence - we are $250 away.

Ciudad de México
I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Ciudad de México Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $250. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $250 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $110 • First-year servicing plan: $70 • Delivery and set-up: $70 Thanks for being kind about this. - Juan

    • Hang in there, Juan. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

      • Thinking of you and your family, Juan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
