Ayu lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at Jakarta Selatan General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $800. Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Ayu could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $800 goes: • powered wheelchair: $750 • Fitting and training sessions: $25 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $5 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
